When only lemons are left in your pocket

Are you facing a situation where you only have a few lemons left in your pocket? To sum it up more succinctly, are you feeling frustrated due to professional, financial and personal setbacks? Are you going through a rough period professionally? Are you feeling the pocket pinch? Are you feeling saturated with your current line of work? Are there personal problems to deal with too?

If your answer to even one of these questions is a Yes, you, my friend, should certainly take time to introspect a little. At the risk of sounding cheesy, when life gives you only lemons, it’s time to make lemonade! By this, we mean that you should embrace adversity in any sphere of your life as an opportunity to actually challenge yourself and come out stronger against all odds. Use this phase as a chance to de-stress, de-clutter and unlearn.

It will do you a world of good in the long run for sure. These phases are learning experiences provided you use them wisely.

Here’s what you can do:

• Watch your Favorite Movie – Movies are great healers and this extends to your favourite television programmes as well. Movies/Television programmes like Friends, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, 3 Idiots, Forest Gump and the like can help you clear your mind and regain your sense of control or balance.

• Keep to Yourself – Calm yourself down by staying alone with your thoughts. A little isolation always works once in a while. This will help you rethink and evaluate your decisions and the way ahead.

• Binge (A Little) – Indulge in good food and beverages that you like. Whenever you’re frustrated, it always helps to gorge on your favourite dishes. This is a great stress buster!
